Running indoors = zzzzzz…
Ok ok, so it wasn’t as great as running outdoors but it was still running so that’s something. The “exercise room” was basically a dorm room right from the popcorn ceilings with horrid lighting, to the prison-like cinder block walls, down to the carpet in desperate need of replacement. The bonus was that was a working cable TV and that the treadmill (yes, there was only one) actually worked. (There was also a stationary bike which I did not test out.) Fortunately, each day I went there I was the only person I ever saw…and the TV was always left on the same channel I had it on so I think perhaps I was the only one using it the whole week.
I set the incline to 1% to stimulate outdoor running and was thankful for not having to dodge traffic, will myself over
tough hills, and battle wind resistance. However, I am always one that watches the time tick by when on a treadmill…though the tv did help me to be not so obsessive over that. The running itself I was glad to get in and I did notice a bit of pain in my right foot yesterday but that might not even be running related so I’ll keep an eye on it.
The best part about running indoors was that down the hall was a huge hot tub I could relax in and a great sauna as well. (yet again, always being the only one there!) I need those installed in my place here….and an Olympic sized pool complete with diving platforms and springboards…just let me dream people, just let me dream.
Also, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! to my little sister, even though I’m 99.9% sure she doesn’t read this blog.
